Ibn Abbas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "There are two blessings in which many people incur loss. (They are) health and free time (for doing good)". [Al-Bukhari] Certainly the God's purpose of this world's and the human being's creations is to test his creations as he says, "Who has created death and life, that He may test you which of you is best in deed. And He is the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving;." This world is just like a big Hall of school examination and all the human beings are like those students who are preparing themselves for that exam. Each person has two watchers who are recording the human beings deeds. This two watchers record all kinds of deeds (i.e. the smallest one and the biggest one) as God says, " Not a word does he (or she) utter, but there is a watcher by him ready (to record it).." The human being's examination starts from the age of adolescence until death. The difference between the human being's examination and the school examination is that in school examination the students know when the time will be over while in the human being's examination no one knows when the time will be over (i.e. when he/she dies). If a teacher tells his/her students that the time of examination is unknown and he/she may take your exam papers at any time at that time the students do their best to finish the exam in a shortest time and do well in the exam. Unfortunately no one knows when he/she dies and we may die at any time, but still we do not do our best to pass this exam. The students equipments for the school exam consists of pencils or pens and papers ...etc. while the human being's equipments consists of time, fortune, information, his ability and efforts and all what he/she has. The questions of the human being's exam are known ad the following are the main questions: 1- We must do what God has commanded us. 2- We mush avoid what God has prohibited. 3- We must thank God for all His blessing upon us. 4- We must be patient with the difficulties. There too many Holy Quranic verses and Hadith about God's Blessing upon his creation, so we going to mention some of them: 1- God has granted his creation too many blessing that no one can count them as God says,"And He gave you of all that you asked for, and if you count the Blessings of Allâh, never will you be able to count them. Verily! Man is indeed an extreme wrong-doer, - a disbeliever (an extreme ingrate, denies Allâh's Blessings by disbelief, and by worshipping others besides Allâh, and by disobeying Allâh and His Prophet Muhammad SAW). Ch: 14. V: 34." Internal and external organs, all those kind of food, garments, all life necessities....etc these are all Gods blessings upon us. Iman, wisdom, eyes, ears, health, parents and fortune these are Gods blessings upon us. There are too many blessings in each cell of human bodies.... unfortunately we do not thank God for all these blessings upon us. One day a poor man came to a scholar and he complaints about his poverty and he says:" God has not granted me any blessings" in response the scholar asks him the following questions: Do you your ears for one hundred thousand? He says, "No,". Do you sell you eyes for one hundred thousand? He says, "No". Do you sell you hands for one hundred thousand? He says, "No". Do you sell you legs for one hundred thousand? He says, "No". The scholar says "what are you complaining for while you have got a great mount of money". Finally the poor man realized that money is not every thing, health is the greatest blessing that God granted to his creations. 2- Certainly all the blessings and the difficulties of this life is for testing the human beings. Even we assume that this is because of our honesty or charity that god granted welfare and blessings upon us, in fact all what God granted as is just to test us as He says," As for man, when his Lord tries him by giving him honour and gifts, then he says (puffed up): "My Lord has honoured me. But when He tries him, by straitening his means of life, he says: "My Lord has humiliated me!" And He also says, " And were it not that all mankind would have become of one community (all disbelievers, desiring worldly life only), We would have provided for those who disbelieve in the Most Beneficent (Allah), silver roofs for their houses, and elevators (and stair-ways, etc. of silver) whereby they ascend, And for their houses, doors (of silver), and thrones (of silver) on which they could recline, And adornments of gold. Yet all this (i.e. the roofs, doors, stairs, elevators, thrones etc. of their houses) would have been nothing but an enjoyment of this world. And the Hereafter with your Lord is only for the Muttaqoon. If fortune or wealth were regarded as a charity or good deeds, the disbelievers would win both lives. But sometimes fortune and wealth make its owner to lose both lives and those who have a greater mount of money; their exams will be more difficult than those who have a smaller mount for example if a teacher gives a book to each one of his/ her students, but the sizes of the books are different; some of the books are some and they contain only some papers and other are medium and large and they contain a large numbers of papers. Certainly those who got the big ones will be glad and those who got the small ones will be sad, but when the teacher tells his/her students that you will have an exam in these books at that time the result will be opposite to the previous one (those who got the small books will be happy and those who got the big ones will be sad because they are sure that their exams will be difficult and they wish the would have got the small books) this example is the same to our life i.e. everyone will be asked of what he/she has in this life and how he/she spends it, so this exam will be easier for the poor that the rich because the poor have a little while the have a lot. At this time the rich wish they were poor because their exam would be easier. God says, " O mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. Verily, the most honourable of you with Allah is that (believer) who has At-Taqwa (i.e. one of the Muttaqoon (pious - see V.2:2). Verily, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware. 3- One of the factors of passing this exam (God's exam to His creations) is by give thanks (by accepting Faith and worshipping none but Allah), and there are several kinds of giving thanks: a- Giving thanks internally: this is done by having a stable iman and believing that God is the source of all blessings as He says, " And whatever of blessings and good things you have, it is from Allah..." b- Giving thanks by tongue: this is done by repeating Al-Hamdulilla (All the praises and thanks be to Allah) many times, thinking and talking about God's blessings upon us, ( And proclaim the Grace of your Lord (i.e. the Prophethood and all other Graces). Another way of practicing this kind of Giving thanks is by reciting Quran, teach others and enjoin (people) for Al-Maroof (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all what Islam has ordained) and forbid (people) from Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief, polytheism of all kinds and all that Islam has forbidden). c- Giving thanks (practically) by action: Allah says," "Work you, O family of Dawud (David), with thanks!" But few of My slaves are grateful. " There are several kinds of giving thanks practically and they are different such as the one whom God has granted a great knowledge, so he/ she has touse it in solving the Muslims' problems and in teaching others and the one whom God has granted a good and ability and energy, so he/ she has to use it in performing good deeds and for the sake of Allah, and the one whom God has granted fortune and wealth, he/ she has to spent it for the sake of Alla. The one who thank God for His blessings, God will increase His blessings upon him/her and vice versa as He says," And (remember) when your Lord proclaimed: "If you give thanks (by accepting Faith and worshipping none but Allah), I will give you more (of My Blessings), but if you are thankless (i.e. disbelievers), verily! My Punishment is indeed severe." Giving thanks and obey Allah is the factor of safety. Surely the factor of surviving the family of Lut was by their obeying and thanking for Allah as Allah says, "We sent against them a violent Tornado with showers of stones, (which destroyed them), except Lut's household: them We delivered by early Dawn, As a Favour from Us, thus do We reward him who gives thanks (by obeying Us)." Certainly there is a great reward in the hereafter for those who grateful and thank God for His blessings as Alla says," Nor can a soul die except by Allah.s leave, the term being fixed as by writing. If any do desire a reward in this life, We shall give it to him; and if any do desire a reward in the Hereafter, We shall give it to him. And swiftly shall We reward those that (serve us with) gratitude. The prophet Muhammad (May peace and blessing be upon him) warns all mankind from these two blessings (health and free time). There is no doubt that health is a blessing but the majority of people ask that how free time could be a blessing? Surely the prophet's (PBUH) aim at free time is life, of course life is a blessings and it is the factor of getting paradise. The prophet (PBUH) says," The majority of people are deprived of these two blessings because of their negligence and they think that these blessings are rewards; in fact the God's aim at these blessings is to test His creation
